Fabiola A. Lara, M.S.Ed. (she/her) works with a wide range of stakeholders to improve outcomes for young children, families, and their environments.

Her areas of interest within ECDE include gender equity and social justice, transformative male caregiving and engagement in the early years, child/family resilience and wellbeing, climate change, and safe, positive parenting. Fabiola’s decade-long experience spans humanitarian and development contexts including fragile, conflict- and violence-affected (FCV) settings in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and beyond.

Her specialties include science-based, contextually-relevant program design and implementation, building technical capacity of teams, monitoring and research for evidence generation, and national educational planning with demonstrated strong capacity to work directly with governments (i.e. Senegal) and key actors for systems strengthening, to advocate and institutionalize evidence-based practices.

Fabiola’s experience includes identifying funding opportunities, lead-writing winning proposal submissions, and providing technical leadership for medium- and large-scale grants supported by private donors and governments including World Bank, UN, U.S. Government (USG) and USAID.

In response to the need for stronger, more intentional cultural relevance and intersectionality to address critical issues in the global development space, Fabiola founded EquaNurture in 2024. EquaNurture is committed to maximizing impact through science-based solutions, rooted in equity and nurturing care to improve outcomes for children, families, and their environments.

In other pursuits, Fabiola creates opportunities for women-led artisan families and female entrepreneurs across the globe. She identifies female artisan and entrepreneurial partners to co-design premium, handcrafted goods for a global market and curates enriching virtual and in-person learning experiences.

Fabiola holds a Master’s Degree in International Educational Development from the University of Pennsylvania and a Dual Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and French and Francophone Studies from Syracuse University. She is a native English and Spanish speaker with advanced French language skills.
